We are proud to announce that our electrical team at Bosch Projects has successfully delivered a design and procurement package for a 33kV overhead line project at the Kilombero Sugar Mill in Tanzania.  The project involved building a new 33kV 26 MVA overhead line that linked the K4 sugar mill to the TANESCO 33kV in take substation.  The 33kV heavy conductor overhead line was specially designed based on Eskom’s MV heavy conductor standard.  The project also required the removal of an existing 850 meter 3-phase 33kV mink overhead line.

The Kilombero Sugar Mill team oversaw the construction of the new 33kV 26 MVA overhead line that connects the K4 sugar mill to the TANESCO 33kV in take substation. They also dismantled an existing 850 meter 3-phase 33kV mink overhead line. With technical support from Bosch Projects.

Eskom’s MV heavy conductor standard was used to custom design the 33kV heavy conductor overhead line. The team also performed power system simulation of the integrated power systems of the K4, K3 and K2 Mills to select the rating of the K4 factory’s 33kV grid-connection. Specifications, bill of quantities, drawings and contract documents for the supply and installation of the 26MVA 33kV Overhead Line were completed.
