Scope of services provided:

• Engineering design;
• Cost estimating;
• Procurement;
• Contract administration;
• Construction monitoring; and
• Commissioning/handover.

Project Scope:

The company prequalified as one of four consultants to provide professional engineering and project management services to eThekwini Municipality over a six year term for upgrading the wastewater treatment facilities. After tendering against the prequalified consultants the company was appointed for the largest portion of the upgrades comprising the Northern and Phoenix Wastewater Treatment Works. The projects comprise Process, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering for the following work packages:

• Northern WWTW (70Ml/d)
  • Upgrading of all existing MCC’s;
  • 2 new belt press installations;
  • D.A.F. unit installation;
  • Refurbishment of the aeration basin; and
  • Upgrading both potable and second class water systems.

 

• Phoenix WWTW (25Ml/d) to 50 Ml/d Augmentation
  • Full civil, mechanical and electrical and SCADA system augmentation from 25Ml/d to 50Ml/d capacity (activated sludge);
  • Upgrading of second class water;
  • Upgrading of chlorination system; and
  • New Sludge digestion and dewatering systems.
