TYPE OF CONTRACT: EPCM - Consultants for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Drainage, Vertical Transportation and Firefighting Installations

Services Provided:

• Conceptual design;
• Engineering and design;
• Contract management;
• Construction management; and
• Testing and commissioning.

Project Scope:

The project was the construction of a 11000 m shopping mall with two roof top car parks.

Bosch East Africa was responsible for the following services:

• Electrical building services, inclusive of 11kV supply, 11/0.433 kV transformer, stabiliser, lighting and small power, fire detection, internet/data connection and telephone;
• 3 x 330 kVA generator and synchronization panel;
• External outdoor/feature/road/pathway lighting;
• Internal plumbing building services, inclusive of plumbing, drainage, sanitary ware for public toilets;
• Water storage inclusive of borehole;
• Pressurised potable water supply to shops and restaurant;
• Rainwater collection and drainage into existing storm water drains for new building;
• LPG gas installation for restaurants;
• Vertical transport – Lifts and escalators;
• Air-conditioning of Management offices;
• Mechanical ventilation – Fresh air supply to shops and extraction for ablutions;
• Extract ducting and fans for restaurant kitchen hoods;
• Fire hydrant and fire hose reels for entire complex and external areas; selection of firefighting pumps and sizing and locating of firefighting storage tank;
• Full contract documents, contract management, cost estimates and construction supervision; and
• Complete testing and commissioning of all services.
